The Melting Point
WYPS were commissioned in June 2018 to complete the reinstatement of a residential apartment block in Huddersfield which had experienced a prolonged escape of water significantly damaging the construct of the building.
The Brief
Following the initial identification of an escape of water West Yorkshire Property Services provided a thorough trace and access survey to understand the cause of the leak. The damage affected a number of properties and communal areas across several floors throughout the apartment block. Following confirmation of the cause WYPS were instructed to rectify the entirety of the damage which covered eight properties and communal spaces, across an area of approximately 1000 square meters.
The Solution
The full scope of reinstatement being undertaken includes, the complete removal and reinstatement of 16 bathrooms suites, 8 fully fitted kitchen diners, the compete rip out and reconstruction of the sub floor throughout the area, which consists of the removal and reinstatement of concrete screed and insulation layers. All internal partitioning is to be removed and reconstructed along with all woodwork throughout the properties being replaced. The properties will be reinstated including final decoration within a programme of thirteen weeks.
